This canister set was made to look just like Mom's. It is made from bisque with an orange lustre finish - it is shiny. On the lustre there are red flowers with yellow centers and green leaves. This has a blue "fence" and the lettering is black. These were cheaply made and usually sold at the dimestore. The lids just set on the top. They do not fit. There are a lot of lustre misses on the bottom edges of the canisters. This was done during manufacture. The decal design was applied very quickly and they are not even.
As seen in picture #2 there are 5 of the buying larger canisters. They are 3" tall with the lids x 1-1/8" wide x 1-1/2" deep. The names on these canisters are: Oatmeal, Tea, Sugar, Coffee, and Rice. I believe there probably was a flour canister that is no longer with the set. Each of these larger canisters are impressed on the back "Made in Japan" as seen in picture #3. They also have an ink stamp on the bottom "Made in Japan" with the company mark that I cannot make out. Each of the canisters have their lids. One lid has a small chip on the underside that is only seen when the lid is turned over. The Rice canister is faded as you can see in the last picture.
In picture #4 you can see the Oil and Vinegar and the Salt Box. All three of these pieces are not easy to find. As you can see in the picture, there is only one stopper left. This same stopper is missing a piece of the triangle on the top. You can see this in picture #5. The Oil & Vinegar cruets are 3-1/2" tall with the stopper (just over 3" tall without) x x 1-1/4" wide with the handle x 1-1/4" deep. The salt box is 2-5/8" tall x 2" wide x 1-3/4" deep. It does have it's set on lid. These three pieces do not have any chips or cracks other than the one stopper. The Oil and Vinegar cruets are impressed on the back "Japan" and they also have the ink stamp as mentioned above. The salt box has this same ink stamp on the bottom, but it is not impressed.
Picture #7 shows the smaller canisters. They are 2-1/4" tall with the lid x 1-1/4" wide and 1-1/4" deep. These canisters are impressed on the back "Japan" and have the ink stamp on the bottom as the larger canisters. The spice canisters are: Nutmeg, Pepper, Allspice, Cinnamon, and Cloves. The Pepper canister has cracks and I believe it has been glued. It shows quite well from the outside. I lid has been replaced. the lid is lighter orange and a bit smaller than the others. You can see this lid in picture #9. One of the smaller lids has a small chip on the underside inner edge.
Please see my pictures. My price reflects the damage.
