This Trivet Features laughing and crying faces; as well as animal faces.
Union Manufacturing Co.was a iron castings foundry in Boyertown, Pa.
Purchased by a group of businessmen in 1894, they started the metal production facility.
John Z. Harner, took on the title of superintendent in 1910 and by 1921, he bought the company for himself and served as its president.
During his tenure the company made motor blocks, piston cylinders, light poles, barbell weights, ornamental knickknacks, mechanical banks, and trivets.
Initially intended to hold hot cookware, while serving; these also make wonderful kitchen decorations!
