“In the psyche, the bear can be understood as the ability to regulate one's life, especially one's feeling life. Bearish power is the ability to move in cycles, be fully alert, or quiet down into a hibernative sleep that renews one's energy for the next cycle.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
This is a giclée print of an original watercolor painting of a bear skull wearing a crown of holly to honor the cycles of life and death, the cycles of activity and hibernation. Original painting by Megan Desrosiers in 2021.
This print was created on Hahnemühle German Etching, 100% cellulose, 310 gsm paper. Etching is a traditional mould-made copperplate paper. It is a white, textured paper that provides an excellent reproduction of color and detail, deep blacks, and optimum contrasts. The paper and ink are acid- and lignin-free. Print will fit an 8” x 10” frame and is shipped unframed.
This item is for 1 of 250 individually-signed prints. No more than 250 prints of this painting will be made. The back of each print is signed, dated, and numbered in pencil and hand-stamped using archival ink.
