Guldsmedsaktiebolaget, or GAB, is a Swedish manufacturer of cutlery in silver and nickel silver in Eskilstuna.
The company was founded in Stockholm in 1867, and for a long time had a broad production of objects in silver and nickel silver. Jewelry production was conducted during the period 1930-78 by the subsidiary Guldvaru AB G. Dahlgren & Co. In 1964, Gense was acquired and in buying 1982-86 Nilsjohan was owned. During this time, stainless steel cutlery was also made. In the years 1961-1978, the Hallbergs store chain was also owned.
Artistic leader 1907-1942 was Jacob Ängman, who, like his successor Sven Arne Gillgren, made significant efforts to promote art-industrial design.
During the 1980s, changes in ownership and structure led to the breakdown of the group led by GAB and the business reverted to the original as part of the GENSE Group.
