Each piece of manzanita wood that we offer is hand-collected from downed or dead wood on our property - we do not cut living manzanita shrubs to obtain these branches. This naturally-aged piece has been scrubbed, rinsed, and gently hand- sanded to remove dirt, soft wood, and lichen - and is otherwise untreated. **Be sure to soak and boil if you are planning to submerge this piece in an aquarium! While we have buying spent time cleaning and sanding down any sharp points, this piece has not been sterilized. Boiling will help ensure the health of your critters and will accelerate saturation of the wood for optimum placement!**

Let us know if you are looking for something in particular; we have a wide range of shapes and sizes of manzanita wood! We are slowly adding more pieces to our shop - take a look, check back often, and don't hesitate to ask! We are happy to make custom orders!

Our Northern California ranch has an abundance of common manzanita that grows in graceful, exotic shapes. Manzanita shrubs have a relatively short lifespan, averaging several decades. The wood itself is incredibly dense and durable - which means that when shrubs eventually die and dry out, the beautiful branches remain in place for decades, ever so slowly deteriorating as they face the cycle of the seasons. As part of our ongoing effort to responsibly maintain our ranch and reduce available wildfire fuels we are gathering unique manzanita branches - and making them available for you to enjoy in your own home.
