This series is of the Eero Saarinen designed TWA Flight Center taken in March of 2020. I stayed at the TWA Hotel at JFK for the day and night before my flight back to Los Angeles. Due to the pandemic the hotel was deserted. I spent the afternoon walking around, seeing the structure designed by the great Eero Saarinen. The shapes, the mid-century style, its all there. The evening and night brought soft light, the interior curves were strong, the small recesses were strong images. The TWA signs their bright red. In the morning I knew sunrise would be great so I was up before dawn and shot for about 3 hours. The hotel was basically empty. No one ever interrupted my shooting. The curves, the long……shadows from the Eero Saarinen designed chairs and tables, the hand rails down the main stairs. They were all so wonderfully lit I was shooting like crazy.
