The letterhead states 'With the compliments of Chatto & Windus', the letter not addressed to anyone.A limited edition, limited to four-hundred copies, of which this is numbered eighty-eight.Bookplate of Tanya and Hans Schmoller to the front paste down, the bookplate naming them as 'Tatyana' and 'Hanz'. Tanya Schmoller was a historian of graphic art, and the personal assistant to the co-founder of Penguin Books, Allen Lane. In 1950 she married Hans Schmoller, a graphic designer who was the Head of Typography and Design at Penguin from 1949 to 1976. Hans played a crucial role in the development of British typography in the post-war era, one of the most influential typographers of the century.A privately printed collection of the poetry of D. J. Enright, comprising of a selection from two earlier volumes of verse, together with twelve poems that hitherto had been unpublished. All but one of the poems were written by Enright whilst he was in Japan.Illustrated with a frontispiece.
