Vintage 1950s 1/20 12K Gold H&O Cross Charm Pendant Necklace - buying Religious Jewelry - Sacred Symbol - Harvey and Otis - Made in USA

This is a vintage 1950s gold cross pendant necklace. Pendant is on a steel chain. Cross pendant is stamped 1/20 12K H&O. Decorative design on both sides of the cross.

KEY FEATURES
Approximate dimensions: Chain is 14 inches long, pendant is 3/4 inches long. Tends to wrap closely around the neck but you may place the pendant on another necklace from your own collection if this length doesn't work.

Clasp is spring ring.

PROVENANCE AND INFORMATION
This comes from my mom's collection. She has collected various jewelry items over the decades, beginning when she was in Girl Scouts as a child. She no longer wears a lot of jewelry nowadays, and she's letting go of those pieces that she no longer wears and those items she has never worn.

My mom used to wear this when she was a kid. She grew up in the village of Yorkville in Ohio and the local Methodist church in nearby Tiltonsville. She wore this to church, Sunday School, and other times until she decided not to wear it any more.

The H&O stamp indicates the cross was made by Harvey and Otis, a maker of rings and mountings along with various religious jewelry. The company was founded in 1884 by Henry Harvey and Samuel Otis and moved around to various locations in Providence, Rhode Island. In doing some research I found the company had the following addresses at various times:

- c.1896: Providence, RI
- c.1915: 46 Chestnut St. Providence RI
- c.1934: 183 Eddy St. Providence RI
- c.1950: 46 Chestnut St. Providence 3, RI
