Rare feedsack in a modern design, that resemble Scandinavian style. Wonderful Vintage abstract blue, green and red original 1940's cotton feed or grain sack. During the 1940's depression era, our government hired unemployed artists to design feedsacks, that had become a source of fabric for, cloths, towels, quilts and anywhere fabric was needed.

DIMENSIONS
Larger full feed sack is 38 inches wide and 42 inches long, Smaller piece of a feedsack is 10 inches wide by 42 inches long.

CONDITION
Exceptionally nice clean, fresh smelling, not wrinkled, with no stain, quality feed sack fabric. The feedsack bag has been taken apart to turn it into buying usable fabric.

PROVENANCE
Found on a farm in Southern Illinois at a auction, under a big tree. Feed sacks were initially made of heavy canvas, and were used to obtain flour, sugar, meal, grain, salt and feed from the mills. First feed sacks began to be sold in colors , around 1925, colorful prints for making dresses, aprons, shirts and children's clothing began to appear in stores.The evolution of the feed sack is a story of ingenuity and clever marketing.
