This beautiful textile measures 17-inches by 76-inches.
Rue, wild indigo, and basil were utilized to get these incredible colors.
It is a gorgeous textile that was woven on a back strap loom in the highlands of Guatemala. It could used as a table runner. It could be cut and made into stunning pillow covers. It is very beautiful. The colors are incredible.
This textile was made on a back strap loom. A woman fits the strap of the loom around her waist and leans back to stretch it taunt. It's not an easy task. I have tried weaving on one several times and have come to understand the technique and physical endurance that it entails. I have so much respect for the weavers! The last picture is of the one of the ladies in the buying cooperative that wove this beautiful textile.
