Where and when: New York, 1978
Arrested for: Assault. The Sex Pistols bass player attacked
Patti Smith's brother at a nightclub two months after being arrested for the murder of girlfriend Nancy Spungen.
Outcome: Vicious spent several weeks on Rikers Island and
was released on bail on February 1,1979. He overdosed
on heroin and died that night.
