The Black-Capped Chickadee is a small, nonmigratory, North American songbird that lives in deciduous and mixed forests. It is the state bird of Massachusetts and Maine in the United States, and the provincial bird of New Brunswick in Canada. It is well known for its ability to lower its body temperature during cold winter nights, its good spatial memory to relocate the caches where it stores food, and its boldness near humans (sometimes feeding from the hand).
This stained glass Chickadee plant stake is handmade by me in my home studio. There are 12 pieces of beautiful hand cut glass and using the Tiffany Method, each is ground, wrapped in copper buying foil and soldered together. A black patina is applied to the solder lines. A Brazilian Carnauba Wax is applied for a protective and bright shiny finish. A 12" metal rod is attached with solder and comes ready to put in your favorite flower pot, or in your garden, to enjoy.
NOTE: If you would like for this to be a HANGING Suncatcher, rather than a plant stake, please contact me after purchasing, and I will make it for you.
Only shipping to the 48 contiguous states.
