World War I (1914-18) United States Navy Officers' button Commemorative Cufflinks
These are a beautiful pair of cufflinks made with buying genuine United States Navy buttons from the era of the First World War, over 100 years ago. This pair of cufflinks is made from two gilt officers' (with the eagle facing left) buttons. The United States Navy didn't enter the First World War until 1917 and their activities focussed mainly on the North Atlantic and the transport of the American Expeditionary Force from the USA to Europe. The cufflinks are made with a swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel. They are made using smaller pocket buttons from a tunic, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 18 mm in diameter.
They represent a unique part of history and the officers' gilt buttons are carefully cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately 100 years old, whilst highlighting the beautiful details of these original buttons.
This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of United States Naval and First World War military history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks. They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
