A stunning antique copper ale jug. Beautiful quality and a wonderful shape with a hollow loop handle to the rear, a large pouring lip and wide rim to the top. The circular base has a thick sturdy rim.

Said to have spent its busy life in a pub in buying the wilds of Dartmoor, this jug has certainly seen some use over the years; there has been some previous repair to a join between the main body and the top collar, dents and bumps throughout, and some heavy dents to the handle. Inside the top collar there remains part of the original lead Excise seal.
