‘No Girl was an Island' Original Art
Old photos intrigue me.
Wish I knew who this vintage poser was. Something about the tilt of her head & the two handed clasp of her purse draws me to her story. She's steadfastly holding her own against the backdrop of that ginormous palm. I wonder what else she was up against. And then Gauguin's women dropped by, bringing borders of metallic gold shimmer… above a symbolic egg.
All of my work is intuitive; the story gradually develops in the midst of the making.
My hope is that viewers will find their own version of the story in the wisps of images. What do you see?
