This is a vintage, estate auction quilt made and purchased in Virginia. The quilt maker made many quilts in her lifetime, and I have recently bought quite a few of them in varying conditions and ages. This features a patchwork, squares-type design made using lots of different kinds of scrap fabric. There are florals, paisleys, solids, and even kid cartoon fabrics mixed into this quilt. Like most older quilts, it does have some damage. I have seen a few rips, tears of fabric, yellowing on the cream backing, some running of pink dye from being washed, etc. Often times, these quilts are greatly valued and still appreciated for being original and handmade despite their flaws. DIMENSIONS: 100 x 75 buying 1/2 inches CONDITION: The backing has yellowing from age and bleeding of pink dye from the fabric above the locations along the stitching and into the square or rectangular portions. Some of the patchwork has become separated, a few spots of torn fabric, but overall still in fair condition.
