We are offering a vintage collectible Dansk round serving Cheese board with hostess Cheese Plane. This 2 - p. classic set was designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard and Vivianna Torun Bulow-Hube (often known simply as Torun) in 1988. The set is in very good, all original condition. Ideal for and charcuterie courses, this set features a unique design that will intrigue and impress quests.

Vivianna Torun was a talented silversmith and jewelry maker and one of Sweden's most important 20th century silversmiths and a master jeweler. She is the first female silversmith to have become internationally noted. Her designs in wood have a sensuous feminine quality that makes them very special.

About the Teakwood ...
Long before the first European navigators reached India, Eastern people has realized the unique properties of teak. It was found buying to be remarkably strong and naturally durable, resistant to water and weather. Teakwood is well suited to building ships, houses and kitchen utensils. It has even brown color with a hunt of olive and gold. Teak holds its own natural oil and is so hard that ordinary nails cannot be driven into it. Teak grows as a magnificent tree in warm tropical rain forests.

The classic and stylish Teakwood Cheese Board with Hostess Cheese Plane is crafted of beautifully grained Teakwood and Stainless Steel. The board is 11 in (28 cm) in diameter. The top has egg shape cutout matches the cheese plane teakwood handle. It is not just very clever and practical feature, but very elegant design element. The back of cheese board retains its original Dansk logo and it reads: " Dansk International Designs LTD Torun Thailand ". The natural finish and patina preserved very well. Some slight vintage wear, aging signs and very faint sings of use to bot the board and plane are present and must be accepted. Nothing major, but we have to mention it for the accuracy of the description.
The Hostess Cheese Plane is made of and 18/10 stainless steel with teak handle. This plane is flowing and comfortable to use; it is unlike any other cheese serving utensils! The plane is 7 3/4 in (19.5 cm) L. It is marked on the back: " DANSK International Desins LTD Torun / Japan ". The original metal patina is also well preserved. Some scuffing to the metal is present and must be accepted. We will include a copy of Care Instructions from DANSK ENTERTAINERS at Buyer's request.

The set is very clean, comes from smoke free environment and would be a perfect addition to any of mid-century, Eames style collection!
