Product code: 1942 Impressionist WWII-era New York buying Harborscape Oil Painting by Harry Bolick
Overview: Up for sale is this really beautiful little gem of an oil painting. The painting depicts what appears to be New York harbor, with numerous boats, including steamers, tugs and an old clipper ship trawling around the harbor. It's a cool little piece, showing a nice artistic touch, including the well-rendered clouds and smoke rising from the steamers. It is monogram-signed "H.B." and dated "'42" at lower right. It is also signed by the artist, Harry Bolick with a buying message to a friend on verso, and appears to have been gifted to a friend in 1944. It comes framed in a carved wooden frame. Condition: The painting is in pretty good condition. It has a couple scuffs on the left side and there appears to be some empty, unpainted space at the bottom-right corner. Otherwise, great condition. Frame is in very good condition. Measurements: Painting measures 12 inches wide x 9 inches high. Frame measures approximately 13 inches wide x 10 inches high.
