A son of Eupeithes of Ithaca, buying and one of the suitors of Penelope, who during the absence of Odysseus even attempted to make himself master of the kingdom and threatened the life of Telemachus. When Odysseus after his return appeared in the disguise of a beggar, Antinous insulted him and threw a foot-stool at him. On this account he was the first of the suitors who fell by the hands of Odysseus.
This collection of marble statues is remarkable in the details achieved. Any serious collector will appreciate the meticulous care taken in all the small details that complete the sculpture.
