Darwin-inspired stained glass squid. Glass is hand-painted in layers, and fired in a kiln in between to permanently set the paint onto the glass (same method as is used in church windows). Sometimes I use silver stain to introduce a yellow tinge into the glass itself. The glass is held together with lead came and solder. Leaded light cement is buying then applied for strangth and aesthetics, before a final polish to darken the lead. Two rings are located at the top of the piece for hanging in a window, or against a wall.
Piece is approximately 15.5cm wide by 18cm tall, although all pieces are different and will fluctuate slightly.
Please note that all pieces are made to order and are hand-made. If you'd like your piece personalising (glass colour, name adding, etc), please send me a message with your requirements and I'd be pleased to make any changes!
Also note that this product contains lead; please handle with care.
