Beautiful Joe buying Marshall Saunders 1894 1st Edition Autobiography illustrated Cloth Binding/Covers

"Beautiful Joe" by (Margaret) Marshall Saunders is an autobiography in literary fiction. She was fascinated and buying touched by the true story of Airedale dog Joe who had an abusive owner but Joe was rescued by caring people and so Saunders was inspired that Joe was able to overcome an abusive past and show love to the people who helped remove him from that situation. So although the story is considered fiction it ties in moments based on real events! The book has numerous illustrations and is a First Edition published in 1894
by Charles H. Banes. It has a cloth binding with gold embossing to the front cover and with all edges gilt stain. Also note the pen and pencil markings and stamp on the front endpaper.(as indicated in photo 4).

Condition:GD/VG(Good/Very Good)-Has scuffing along the borders as well as some abrasions to the covers./tissue paper on the frontispiece is loose but not detached. Otherwise, the pages are clean off-white with no tears or any missing and the binding, covers, and boards are all intact!
