"Gage"
This little guy is adorable in his steampunk seahorse print. His complimentary fabric is a tonal gold chevron print. Gage has short spiky golden hair and a detachable steampunk pin.
Gage was created using 34 yo yos (gathered fabric rounds) from a variety of quilting fabric prints for his arms and legs. His body and ruffled collar are also made from the same quilting fabric as well as the handmade tag on his rear. Gage's head is a yo yo made from soft flannel with a hand drawn face. His hair is made from a warm golden honey yarn. New hypoallergenic stuffing was used for his head, body, hands, and feet. He measures approximately 11" long lying down and about 8.75" tall when sitting. Gage can sit on his own when he finds his balance.
Due to Gage's pin, he is not intended for small children unless the pin is removed (it is detachable).
Each yo yo doll will include a card with his/her name, date of completion and a poem I wrote to pay tribute to all of those yo yos of yesteryear.
Yo yo clowns/dolls have been around for a long time...you may remember Jingling Jack from the 1950s, and over the years, I have received numerous requests to recreate the cute clown. I apologize for buying those who have waited so long (years!) for me to come up with my own take of this classic doll. I have tried and discarded many ideas, but I finally settled on a design. :) I didn't want to make just clowns, so I will be posting a little variety of what I am calling "yesterday's yo yo dolls". Enjoy and if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them. Thanks for stopping by Sursy Shop! Robin
**I am happy to change the name of a doll if you prefer something different. Include a message at checkout and I will change the name card accordingly.
