Product code: Japanese Modernist Woodblock buying Print by Toshijiro Inagaki Village Landscape
Up for sale is this very stylish woodblock print by Toshijiro (Nenjiro) Inagaki. Inagaki was one of the forerunners of bringing modernist Western themes to traditional ukiyo-e Japanese printmaking. His prints always ooze 1960's cool and style and he's one of my personal favorites. This print depicts a village landscape buying with a retinue accompanying a carriage I have located this print in a couple places on the internet, but haven't found a title for it. Estimates of age date to 1950s-1960s. Print is framed in a simple black frame. Please see my other listings, as this is one of four Inagaki prints I recently acquired. Condition: The print and frame are both in excellent condition. Please see photos. Measurements: Visible area of the print measures approximately 5.75 inches wide x 4 inches high. Frame measures approximately 8.75 inches wide x 6.75 inches tall.
