A limited edition Rolf-G. Hermann musical Oktoberfest bear by Hermann Teddy Bears. The bear was made in 1997 in memory of the 75th birthday of Rolf-G. Hermann, the Hermann-Spielwarn, Coburg president who passed in 1995. The president was known for performing with the historical Coburg Rifleman in Munich during Oktoberfest. This adorable bear is made of mohair and has a built-in music box that plays the “Edelweiss Melody” when its wind-up key is turned and the bear is holding a ceramic beer stein with an image from an Oktoberfest parade. The bear is numbered 5767 of 12500 and comes with its original box and papers. The bear is wearing a heavy duty forest green felt hat with embroidered pink floral ribbon and a feather tucked in the back, white skirt and red vest trimmed in forest green velvet. Includes an embroided pink floral ribbon tie at the neck. This is the first Hermann bear made with a musical movement. Made in Germany and includes a sheet detailing the history of Rolf buying Hermann and this bear. Comes in the original box. This bear is 17 inches tall. The bear is in very good condition but the feather in his hat has disintegrated so only a portion of it remains. This bear has been in a smoke free home.
