A Korean color photo from the 1950s buying done by Major Thom Stellinger-Scott commissioned by US Army depicting an ancient religious building. Stamped lower right. The present lot on auction forms part of the Kuranda's family estate. The provenance of items can be tracked back to Felix Kuranda in 19th century Austrian Empire, member of a well known family of bankers and politicians, directly related to the Karpeles, Wittelshofer, Milne and Lederer families. The most chronological recent lots are former belongings from USA veteran Major Thom Stellinger-Scott related through marriage with the Kuranda lineage. He was a veteran of Korean War as well as a reputed amateur photographer and artist. The Stellinger-Scott family resided for decades at Montauk Long Island NY.
