A vintage Westclox pocket watch, made in the 1930s or very early 1940s, in the style they called Pocket Ben, with a two-tone gold dial. This is a mechanical watch--it must be wound by hand--and it seems to be running just fine!
The stopwatch measures about 2 inches in diameter and the case is silver in tone; I believe it is made of nickel. I imagine the back pops off, to get at the works, but I did not open the case. The face is two shades of gold, deeper in the center, with large numbers and the words "Westclox Pocket Ben." (I have read that the face is actually silver and the gold color comes from yellowing of the watch crystal). At the bottom is a small dial to keep track of seconds and a sweep second hand.
I know nothing about antique watches but this one is easy to wind and ticks happily and seems buying to be keeping time. I'm sure it could benefit from being serviced. The crystal seems to be in quite good condition but the back shows considerable wear (see last photo). Please look carefully at the photos and ask questions. This item is being sold AS IS.
Please keep in mind that this item is vintage and we love it, in part, because of its age, history and patina. I feel that beauty is enhanced by the fact that they have been used and loved and they don't look brand new.
If you have any questions, please feel free to convo me and I will respond as soon as possible.
Thanks so much! Please check back--I'm just getting started and will be listing many more awesome and unusual items!
