Pretty French rolled rosé yellow gold filled Bébé baby bib pin brooch ORIA, 35mm buying pin for bibs from France, Victorian Art Nouveau 1910/1920
Lovely Bébé baby bib pin from France circa 1910' to.
Lovely Bébé baby bib pin from France, circa 1910' to 1920's, made by the famous French jewelry maker, "ORIA". Oria is a French jewelry company founded in 1867, well known for their famous gold plating techniques and their lovely gold plated and rolled gold jewelry pieces. The reverse side of the pin is marked with the maker's name. This sweet pin is matte gold with the design edged in Rosé gold. It is a beautiful combination and really highlights the pretty elegant pattern of this pin. The reverse side is matte gold in tone. It is embossed in the center with the word "Bébé", which translated to English is "baby". It measures 35mm or 1-3/8 inches in length, 9mm wide or 3/8th inch, and is in wonderful vintage condition with normal yet very minimal signs of use and age, no damage to the gold plating. The pinback works very well, is not loose and remains tightly in the clasp. Baby pins like this were used to hold baby bibs in place in an era before bibs had tied strings or velcro. Often such pins were given to new mothers or as a christening gift to the newborn. A lovely collectible pin or brooch for your collection or to be used for dolls. buying
