Vintage German Porcelain Figurine Boy with Sailboat by Carl Schneider's Erben factory, Germany/Grafenthal. The scissors backstamp was first used in 1952 and was used into the 1960's. That it is stamped Germany indicates that this gorgeous piece was made after 1980 BUT the factory was closed in 1972.
The 'scissors' mark was used after 1951 and was for a long time classified 'unidentified' as it did not appear in various reference books. Later research found the hidden message behind this mark: a 'Schneider' (English: 'tailor') of course needs needle, thread and ... scissors.
