Vintage Carved Horn Flock of Storks / Herons / Egrets - Mid Century Awesome - Very Well Done - Look buying at Their Eyes!

This is a fantastic example of mid-century wading bird art! Storks, herons, and egrets were everywhere in the 50s and 60s. Flamingos became symbolic of the era!

This is a grouping of wading birds that has been carved from horn. There are 5 different carvings attached to the wooden base. Each of the birds has a different height, and different colors. Notice that each of the birds has a lighter piece of horn that creates an eye. Some of the birds have their beaks slightly open. This really is a great example of carved bone. There is some cracking in the bone on of the birds - see photos. The bone base is still intact though, and the piece maintains its integrity.
