Mid Century Spatterware Console Set, Peacock, buying Pheasant, California Originals or China Craft

This is a gorgeous 1950s-era console set that includes two peacocks or pheasants and a large abstract bowl, all in off-white with a white spatter glaze. The two birds have yellow beaks. These sets were popular in the 1950s when everyone had a huge console television set and needed pretty things to put on top of it. The two birds are hollow inside. This set is unsigned, although I have another set signed China Craft and I found an identical set that is marked California Originals Pottery of Torrance, California. Perhaps these molds were used by different manufacturers.

The bowl measures 11 X 7 X 3.25 inches. It has an abstract shape with two points that jut out at the sides. The tall bird is 11.25 inches tall and 4.25 inches wide at its base. The sitting bird is 11.5 inches long and 7.25 inches tall. The bowl has a manufacturing "pimple" but otherwise all three pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Perfect for the peacock collector, wedding décor, or centerpiece.

SHIPPING
I use Etsy's calculated shipping option, so shipping will automatically calculate for your location when you check out. I will wrap your purchases with loving care and generally ship them out the next business day unless there is a blizzard or other disaster. I do recycle shipping materials to save cost and the environment. Don't be surprised to find paper towel tubes, empty (washed) food containers, and the like inside your recycled box. These are nearly weightless and take up space, making them great packing materials.
