Scale and Size:
Broken Anvil buying Monthly miniatures are modeled at the standard of approximately 28mm scale figures. However, several other modeling groups model at the 32 mm "Heroic" scale, if you feel that you need them scaled to fit with the rest of your figures, please message me and I will work with you to scale them to your needs.
Materials and Assembly:
I print most of my figures in a Matte Grey UV Resin, when possible one made from more natural Soybean rather than harsher chemicals. Larger figures, may be printed hollow and in a translucent UV Resin (exact color my change by availability, but I strive for clear or light blue translucent). If I can find a way to drain the resin out without damaging the model in highly visible ways. This allows me to save on materials and keep costs lower, while allowing me to cure the inside of the hollow figures to ensure that no liquid resin remains. If this would be an issue, please let me know and we can work out a way to resolve this for you.
While I print using resins that I choose for durability, UV resin tends to be a bit brittle. This is particularly true for very small or thin pieces. Please keep this in mind when assembling, painting and using your figures.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of Broken Anvils Monthly figures may be modular and will require assembly. Any options to hands, weapons, or accessories will be packaged separately from the base model to allow for safer shipping and build/painting options by you.
Clean Up, Priming, and Painting.
There may be some clean up needed on these, due to the nature of 3D printing. This would be similar to deflashing or removing mold lines with metal or plastic figures. An x-acto knife, miniature file, or even high grit sandpaper should work fine for this type of cleanup.
Figures will be provided unprimed. UV resin can become more brittle as it is exposed to UV light. If you will not be painting them for some time, please at least prime them, or store out of direct sunlight. Once primed, the figures are easily painting with acrylic or thinned oil paints.
Assembly can be done with any type of CA glue.
If you have questions about cleanup or painting, please reach out to me and I can assist.
