Vintage Metal Perpetual Flip Calendar 1930s by Velos. Cream and Silver buying Colour Heavy Metal Osborn Desktop Calendar
A cute stylish vintage flip perpetual desk calendar made in England.
A cute, stylish vintage flip perpetual desk calendar made in England by Velos. Made from a heavy metal base with a creamy-beige paint coating and a silver colour chrome calendar, it would look fantastic on any desk or table.
It has the name 'Osborn' engraved on both sides.
When turned, the days flip over in their clever mechanical way with a satisfying 'clunk', and the months are held on little plastic strips held in a small metal tray that can be slid out at the end of the month to change over.
Would say it dates from 1930s (possibly 1940s), and is stamped 'Made in England' and 'Velos' with logo on the underside of the calendar. It has a lovely weighted feel to it.
It measures 8.5cm (3½ inches) wide by 5cm (2 inches) deep and it stands 7.5cm (3 inches) high.
It weighs 220g (nearly 8oz).
The flip numbers all work well. The month labels are all present. Condition overall is very good vintage condition - in unusually good condition for this type - an excellent vintage example.
This would have looked fantastic gracing a desk back in the mid 20th century, and now it could grace yours...
