Max and Norbert Neiger were two brothers living in Czechoslovakia who made wonderful jewellery with figural glass components in Gablonz Czechoslovakia from 1905 to the 1930's. Neiger jewellery is characterised by beautiful Czech glass beads, and detailed metal bead caps & findings.
As the Germans advanced buying near Gablonz in 1939, the two Jewish brothers left their factory and escaped to Bohemia where they continued to produce jewellery in a scaled-down operation. They were later arrested in Prague and in 1941, were sent to Lodz Getto where they were registered as workers/manufacturers this is where they very sadly met their death in 1942.
Their legacy to the jewellery world lives on in their amazing designs that are very collectable to this day.
A rare Max Neiger Bracelet I've not seen another one to date but I'll explain that in a minute. The condition is damaged, it has broken glass beads see photos however I've G.S Hypo cemented them in and then sealed it twice with polyurethane clear gloss varnish so they are all solid and I suspect this is why it's a rare piece they would have been disposed of as they broke more than likely they have been stored upside down on those gorgeous stones the clasp has broken the small nobble on the slider has come off so if you close it more than likely you won't ever be able to open it again. Normally I wouldn't sell such a piece because of the damage however I do know this piece is extremely rare and would suit a collector something to look at and admire no more knocks to the stones or to wear it.
