This large, circa 1950s "Grip-Loc" tackle box was made in Union, Illinois by Walton Products, Inc. It is made out of heavy gauge steel with its original dark teal green finish and measures 17" X 8" X 10" tall. It has a center button latch (no key included) and two flip latches. Inside the case features four (4) swing-out cantilever trays with a total or twenty-two (22) divided compartments in varying sizes. The smaller compartments have their original cork linings. No fishing tackle included.
CONDITION:
This old box is structurally sound with no large dents but does have some distressing including worn finish, small dings, scratches, scuffs, random splashes of paint and spots of rust. It opens and shuts easily and the latches all work well. The interior also has signs or wear and some surface rust but no grease or loose dirt. There is a good amount of rust and pitting on the bottom interior panel but no rust-through holes. We have added a couple of coats of clear polyurethane to the interior bottom panel to help preserve it.
