Victorian Fairings are small china ornament from the 1800'S, usually trinket boxes depicting a variety of scenes-humorous, political or domestic. They were often given away at fairs in the Victoria Era and were displayed on mantles in middle class homes.
The box is in the form of a cherub with two ores in a bowl in front of a vanity mirror. This piece is in great condition for its age and would be a great gift. Gold gliding shows wear - this is consistent with age of this piece. Model number 3555 impressed on cover. Measures 2 3.4 inches wide, buying 2 inches deep and 4 1/8 inches high.
