Handmade Raku Bird Feeder, Metallic Ceramic Raku Bird Feeder, Garden Decorations, Patio Decor
Size 6.75 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide
This bird feeder and/or hanging lantern is made specifically to feed small birds that frequent backyards everywhere. The small perch discourages large birds such as pigeons. Each is wheel-thrown, trimmed, and designed for a great functional piece of craft. This piece is raku fired which is a volatile, unpredictable, and exciting firing process. Raku firing involves taking a ceramic piece out of the kiln at 1900 degrees with metal tongs and carefully placing the pottery in a chamber full of combustibles like newspaper and sawdust. The pottery immediately is surrounded in flames that react with the metals in the glaze to create wonderful effects that only raku firing can produce. The actual fire plays on the form and glazes to create a variety of textures and colors. Raku pottery is always unique and a great addition to your art and craft collection.
This eye-catching feeder will look great in your backyard hanging from a tree, patio, or a free-standing shepherd's hook. A metal shepherd's hook, purchased at your local hardware store, can be easily inserted/removed in the ground so you can place your feeder/lantern anywhere in the yard, great for unique lighting during parties.
A handmade metal S-hook hanger and a strong hemp string are provided for hanging the feeder. I also include a small amount of birdseed to get you started. Use sand buying to create a level surface inside the feeder for a votive candle and transform this piece into an outside hanging lantern.
A 10% discount will be refunded on all additional pottery when ordering multiple pieces. Discounts will be refunded promptly when your order is packed for shipping. All pottery is double boxed and packed for safe shipping. Orders usually go out the next business day using the USPS.
