Hand Carved Pinewood Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus Statue

This vintage double figure statuette of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus is carved entirely of white pinewood, one of the most extensively used softwood in the US. Pinewood is durable and holds its shape, has a beautiful color, and takes seal/stain/varnish well.

Every single cut in this statue was worked by hand and every detail carefully given attention to achieve balance, symmetry and visual impact. It stands about 11" tall x 1-3/4" wide x 2-1/4" wide x 2-1/2" deep. Artist unknown.

This statue is in Excellent vintage condition.
