Lancaster and Sandland, English pottery, hand-painted, character mug/Toby jug of Sir John Falstaff - the popular
comic character created by Shakespeare and appearing
in four of his plays. It dates from the 1950s, 60s. (post
1949 by the back stamp, the company ceased manufacturing/trading in 1968.) Hallmarked at the bottom.

This is a good example and in good condition - no chips/cracks - although there is some crazing inside. The rim is possibly silver-plate (although no marks), unusual to find with a silver-colored rim).

Measures; 5.5" height, 5" width to handle.
