Product code: Hand buying made traditional three legged milking stool

These chunky three legged stools are based on a traditional English milk maids stool, crafted by myself with a chunky English Ash seat and hand turned legs, no two stools are exactly alike. The seat is a really chunky minimum of 45 millimetres in thickness and the stools generally stand about 330-350 millimetres ( with an option for a higher stool seat height: at 400mm-40 cms) in height with a seat diameter of-9 inches, they are small and portable; designed to be hung from the milk maids belt in the days when cows were still milked in the meadow. They are ideal as both a cosy fireside stool or used as a foot stool, they are designed to be quite durable and should last for years with normal use.
At ArtisTree I am hoping to create beautiful sustainable products that will last, using Trees sourced from the local Norfolk woodlands near my home in Norwich, England. The timber is selected at source and seasoned before use we can craft beautiful items in Ash, Oak, Pine, Cherry, Holly or Sycamore and I can even show you the tree your stool came from!
The ash tree here in the UK is in great danger, as the fungal disease Chalara fraxinea is slowly causing the Ash to dieback, thousands of trees are being cut up for fuel all over the UK and many are senselessly going to power bio fuel power stations all over the globe. This is a shameful waste of our precious tree resource and I am engaged in sourcing whatever timber i can get to make hand made items that will hopefully be loved and used for generations- and use less plastic!.
I am able to provide products which will be traced to the tree of origin; including GPS buying data for provenance and photos of the tree and area it was taken from, artisTree is keen to produce products that are 100% sustainable and i am always happy to hear how I could help improve the supply chain further and make it even more environmentally sustainable.
I am happy to take bespoke orders for any stools and other products including Beehives, Chopping boards, chairs and tables to whatever design you care to present-if possible i am always happy to meet you at my workshop in Norwich, England or take orders via : elfcraft [!at] live.co.uk 07704 829071 Paul.
I am engaged in running the "into the Wood" project which helps individuals suffering from mental health conditions get out and discover the outside world and many individuals have benefited locally from these "Forest School" sessions, which i run in conjunction with the Share as One charity for mental health based in Cromer.
