This set of bookends is titled END OF THE TRAIL. The cast iron is finished in a bronze/brass colour and features a Native on horseback with both showing signs of exhaustion while turning their backs to the impending storm. Several variations of this sculpture have been made, and all show the powerful traits of strength, courage and resistance. This unmarked set of bookends stands 6" high x 4 3/4" at it's widest measure. The base measures 4 1/2" long x 2" wide and is felt-padded to protect your fine furniture. The bookends were likely made in the 1940 - 50's and have a nice, aged patina for detail contrast. This handsome pair weigh in at just over 3 lb. and would a make nice gift for the book lover on your list. The price includes shipping within North America.
