The Populus Deltoides - Cottonwood tree, also known as the "Poplar", is a part of the poplar family named for its cotton-like seed growth. This large deciduous tree is found throughout North America favoring moist areas like stream beds and lakefronts, but is highly adaptable and can be grown anywhere. Grows approximately 8'ft per year allowing it to make amazing shade and efficient windbreaks. Long, buying thick branches are decorated with beautiful triangular, green leaves that become a bright yellow in autumn.
