buying rare and hard-to-find African American doll, the "Baby Cries For You" Doll from Mattel.
The doll measures approximately 14" tall.
She's from 1979 and is new in box and never opened, played with, or displayed.The box is in tremendous condition for its age. Please look at the pictures for closer inspection.
Doll is African American and sweet. She has a natural hairstyle. She is slightly discolored from storage, as is her pajama. She's been in the box since 1979, although I did remove her from the box briefly to photograph her. I have not removed her from the internal packaging, however.
Very close in relation to Operation Bootstrap / Shindana Toys (a black-owned toy company, which was given financial and infrastructural support from Mattel in the 1960s/'70s.)
Batteries not needed. Also, this is being sold for the adult collector. Safety standards are not the same as they were in 1979, so I do not recommend this beautiful doll for actual children's play.
