I created the cover of this journal using repurposed cardboard. The outside cover consists of multiple layers of black acrylic paint over vintage lace, producing a wonderful texture to the hand. The inside cover was created in the same way using cheesecloth. This is a 2-signature book of 196 pages, hand sewn into the spine using a 3-hole pamphlet stitch of embroidery floss. I've added 4 metal book corners to protect them from wear and damage.

Inside you'll find hand-dyed oven baked papers, lending a 'crinkly' feel and sound. Included within the journal you'll also find an assortment of other types of paper including fine papyrus, scrapbook paper, vintage hand-dyed music sheets, various writing paper and cellophane.

Many of the pages are inked and/or hand stamped and several are trimmed with lace and ribbon.

The expandable closure is made of lavender coloured ribbon, allowing all the space you need to secure your journal as it grows, keeping your treasures safely inside.

The removable spine dangle is made of braided ribbons that hold two metal charms and a glass bottle containing dried lavender harvested in British Columbia.

The size of this book and its many pages offer ample room for all your writings and keepsakes, and looks beautiful displayed on a table or bookcase.

This book would make an excellent journal, grimoire, spellbook, memory keeper, photo album, scrapbook or diary.

It was an absolute joy to make and a delight to my senses with the feel of the various papers, the lace and ribbon trim, the soft scent of lavender and the texture of the cover.
