Set of 2 sterling silver rimmed crystal salt cellars by Frank M. Whiting & Co. Antique late 1800s to early 1900s master salts or saccharin servers have an elegant smooth fitted sterling band with antiqued beaded rim and deep, starred polished glass dish. Each piece is marked, FRANK M. WHITING & CO, STERLING, PAT. PENDING.
Frank, the son of William Whiting (founder of Whiting Mfg. Co.) founded the F. M. Whiting & Co. in North Attleboro, Massachusetts in buying 1878. As was typical of the time, the company frequently changed names over the years. In 1896, the firm became Frank M. Whiting & Co., which is the mark on these pieces.
Set would look great on the table with fresh ground salts, pepper, spices or organic crystalline sugar.

• CONDITION: Very Good - sterling rim has small dents, minor spotting, light tarnish; glass is clear and lustrous with no damages; very sturdy with tight rims.
