This unique Handcrafted Pine Needle Basket makes a perfect gift for any occasion and will compliment any home and make you the star gift giver.

This handcrafted coiled pine needle basket was made entirely by me in my smoke free home with love. The basket is handcrafted out of Florida long leaf pine needles, natural as well as black dyes needles, a natural walnut slice at the base along with multi colored natural polished round stones, coiled with waxed, artificial sinew thread in an orange color. Basket is adorned natural colored polished natural stones, along with my signature "pine cone" bead.

I use the Native American art form of pine needle coiling to create each unique piece. I also use a combination of simple and complex stitches to enhance each design that I create. Although the pine needle basket is durable, it should not be submerged in water, placed near an open flame or set in the harsh sunshine.

This particular basket has been made from buying naturally shed pine needles harvested in the fall of the year as well as naturally dried green pine needles. Each pine needle was hand picked by me, sorted, washed and then processed in vegetable grade glycerin in an electric roaster at low heat for at least 3 hours. Some of the needles were also hand dyed by me as well in small individual batches. Each needle was allowed to dry thoroughly before being coiled into a handcrafted basket.

This basket is a culmination of weeks of work, from collecting the pine needles, sorting and cleaning them, then dying and or processing in vegetable grade glycerin. I then chose the basket base of my choice and complimented the base with different colors of needles, both dyed and natural and chose the thread color(s) and stitches to enhance each handcrafted piece.
