I make my treescapes using a combination of screenprinting, painting, and hand-embroidery. The tree silhouettes and stars are hand-embroidered onto a hand-painted screenprint of a treecut, and framed in a 6" embroidery hoop. The back is finished with felt.
Here's a little backstory on the series: When I was visiting my parents in Illinois, I asked my dad if he could buying help me cut some of the logs in the woodpile for my art projects. I took one of the treecuts my dad cut for me, scanned it, and made it into a screenprint as a backdrop for my nature-inspired embroideries.
