Joseph and his brother Louis Mazer made costume jewelry under the name of MAZER. The brothers split in the mid 940s. Joseph Mazer then began making jewelry marked JOMAZ. Joseph died in 19976 and his son continued to to produce the jewelry until the 1980s. The makers mark on buying this bracelet was used after 1955. Their jewelry was of very high quality and is very collectible today.
This bangle is in very good vintage condition with few signs of it being pre-worn. There are one or two very teeny spots on the front of the bracelet and a grayed spot on the inside that may be able to be polished away but that cannot be seen when it's worn. The two black enameled pieces on the bracelet are perfect and without flaws. The mechanism for opening and closing the bracelet also work perfectly and the bracelet will stay securely on your arm.
The "swag" style decorating the outside of the piece speaks to its elegance. There are two tones of gold plate on the outer layer with a textured layer along with the black enamel.
You will need a small wrist to wear this bracelet. The inside measurement is 6-1/2 inches. When closed the opening measures
1-3/4" by 2-1/4 inches. The bracelet is 5/8" wide and 1/8" thick.
This is a fairly heavy and elegant bracelet.
