LOFTON COLONIAL VILLAGE BUILDING: "SCHOOL"
HISTORY OF OUR VINTAGE GEO Z. LOFTON “COLONIAL VILLAGE” COLLECTION:
This Lil Red Schoolhouse may be more collectible than ever, when the physical schools are no more, and students start learning on-line. Already a collectible, this Lofton Schoolhouse has gained value, recently.
Our SWAGcollectibles Associates spent several months trying to acquire this very extraordinary Holiday collection by Geo Z. Lofton — maker of his "COLONIAL VILLAGE" buildings.
Once we got hold of the collection, we discovered that these magnificent figurines were almost as fascinating as the rich history of Geo Z. Lofton, a pioneering entrepreneur.
George Zoltan Lefton, of Chicago, was known as "The China King" and was a pioneer in the porcelain giftware industry.
As the founder of the Geo. Zoltan Lefton Co., which was located on the South Side of Chicago, the company amazingly employed more than 400 people across the globe.
Mr. Lefton was also a survivor who came to the United States in 1938 after he fled Nazi Hungary. Once he was safe in America, he helped to bring 12 of his relatives to America, then made sure his family members became employees of his unique company. What an extraordinary man who surely made a difference by using his entrepreneurial skills.
The figurines that make up a part of the Colonial Village collection that SWAGcollectibles is offering, in some cases, actually come with the original box.
All of the figurines were stored in either its original box or another box,
preserving buying the condition of the figurines even longer.
The color of the figurines is sharp and the bottom usually has labels, the year the figurine was created and the special number attached to the figurine.
Some in our large Colonial Village collection date back to the 80s, making them very hard to find now.
Hand made and designed specifically by Geo Z. Lofton who was born in 1905 and died in 1996 at the age of 90, the figurines created by this master designer are so well crafted their beauty can last for decades to come.
