This is an early copy of "Good-bye, Mr. Chips" by James Hilton with its original dust jacket. 1934 buying 1st edition, 9th printing (October); Little, Brown, and Company; Boston. Uncommon edition with a Christmas-themed dust jacket ("For Your Holiday Reading"). The dust jacket is un-clipped with the original $1.25 price intact on the front flap and comes with a clear, protective sleeve (not shown).

Condition:
Foxing to the covers and spine; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Consistent foxing to the pages - the foxing is primarily confined to the outer edges, though the title page (and facing end paper, copyright page, half title page, and pages 2 & 3 have considerably more foxing over most of the page. Page 124 has a small smudge at the outer margin. Foxing to the end papers. Heavy foxing to the edges of the text block. The front end paper has a name/date written in red pen. The front pastedown has what appears to be bits of paper remnants at the top half, and "6322" written in pen at the top edge. Overall the book is in Good- condition. The front and back covers of the dust jacket are lightly tanned; heavy tanning to the spine (the lettering on the spine is nearly illegible); small tears along the perimeter; the original $1.25 price is intact on front flap; green pencil/crayon(?) mark on back flap. Overall the dust jacket is in Good- condition.
