Product code: Buying 1964 90% Silver John F Kennedy Half Dollar
This stunning John F. Kennedy half dollar (50 cent piece) was made in 1964 to honor John F. Kennedy after his assassination. The 1964 Kennedy half dollar was made of 90% silver and 10% copper for that year only. The subsequent 1965-70 half dollars were only 40% silver due to a silver shortage. The half buying dollars made after that date were made from copper-nickel. The U.S. Mint stopped printing Kennedy half-dollars for circulation in 1987.
The coin is in mint condition and would make a wonderful addition to a coin collection or to anyone who collects Kennedy memorabilia.
